Penn State-Maryland: What time will it start and what channel will it be on?
Penn State starts the November portion of its schedule at Maryland. We now know what channel it will be on.
The Big Ten announced Monday that the game will start at 3:30 pm ET. One of the FOX networks will televise the contest. A broadcast crew assignment is not yet out.
All-time, Penn State is 42-3-1 against the Terps over 46 previous meetings. The Lions own a two-game winning streak at the moment. Next Saturday’s visitors have not lost in College Park since 1961. UMD coach Mike Locksley and Lions leader James Franklin previously worked on the Maryland staff together, of course, before both rose to the rank of head coach. Former Lions offensive coordiantor Josh Gattis has the same title at Maryland and program great NaVorro Bowman is on staff as an analyst. And, one-time Marland quarterback Danny O’Brien is a graduate assistant at Penn State.
The Lions are coming off a 20-12 setback at Ohio State. Maryland, which is 5-2, is coming out of its bye week. It heads to Northwestern this weekend (Noon, BTN). Penn State welcomes Indiana (Noon, CBS) to Beaver Stadium this Saturday., of course.
More Penn State-Ohio State fallout
It is Indiana week. But, the loss to the Buckeyes is still all anyone in ‘Nittany Nation’ wants to talk about. Penn State was taken to task by numerous media members following the loss. That was espeically true as it relates to head coach James Franklin.

“Its 6-0 record was built on empty calories, beating no one of note,” Pat Forde wrote for SI. “This was the prove-it game, and Franklin’s program has proved itself chronically lacking in what it takes to join the elite level of the sport.
“In a defining annual matchup, Ohio State is the superior team and Penn State is perpetually unable to close the gap.”
Added Dan Wetzel for Yahoo Sports:
“Franklin is in his 10th year at Penn State and there is little doubt he can build a good team,” Wetzel writes. “There’s no question he’s a good leader who can represent the school well.
“But can he do more? Or is building up to big national games like this only to wind up slinking out of town just the ceiling for the Nittany Lions. He is now 1-9 against Ohio State and 2-12 against top-25 teams on the road.”
