Penn State set to host elite 2024 quarterback later this week
Penn State has built a strong relationship with Charlotte, N.C., quarterback Jadyn Davis over the past year.
Last July, Mike Yurcich hosted Davis and his father for a personal day on campus. Davis spoke very highly of the experience, noting at the time that he planned to return for a game. That came in November, as Davis and his father returned for the White Out against Michigan. The Nittany Lions didn’t pull out the win, but the atmosphere in Beaver Stadium left a strong impression.
“It was definitely cool seeing a game up there,” Davis said following the game. “It’s been awhile since I’ve seen snow, so that was pretty different. But they treated me with great hospitality, and that was the entire fan base, not just the coaches.
“We were walking to our seats and had people asking for autographs and things like that. So, that was a pretty cool experience for me. I loved my time. They have great fans.”

As expected, Yurcich is a major reason why Davis has shown steady interest in the Nittany Lions.
“With Coach Yurcich, I think about the time I got to spend with him back in the summertime from my visit there. It’s incredible how passionate he is,” Davis said. “Just spending time with him that day in the film room, learning about his style of teaching, his style of offense and how he prepares his quarterbacks for the next level, it left a good impression on me that day.”
Davis is now up to two dozen scholarships total. Georgia and Ohio State have hosted him the most, with Davis visiting both schools four times. Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee are among the other schools he’s visited multiple times each.
According to the On3 Consensus, Davis is the second-ranked quarterback in the country for the Class of 2024. He’s the 12th-ranked player nationally.
