Penn State OL commits compete in OL vs. DL 1-on-1s
Penn State hosted many of the region’s top prospects on Saturday for its annual Whiteout Camp. The Nittany Lions saw six currently committed players attend the camp, including four future offensive linemen. In the Class of 2023, five-star Jven Williams, from Wyomissing, Pa., was joined four-star Alex Birchmeier, from Ashburn, Va., and three-star Anthony Donkoh from Aldie, Va. Penn State’s lone Class of 2024 commit, Cooper Cousins from Erie, Pa., was also in attendance.
All four were selected to participate in the final five competition. Following about 30 minutes of 1-on-1 competition, head coach James Franklin and his staff picked the best five participants on each side of the ball to square off, with the losers having to do five pushups at the end. The offensive line ended up winning 3-2.
In addition to Penn State’s four committed players, the staff also chose 2024 prospect Liam Andrews on the offensive side. Andrews was arguably the most impressive lineman in attendance Saturday. The Brookline, Mass., native is up over 20 scholarship offers already. This was his second trip to Penn State, as he previously came in March to watch spring practice.
On the defensive side, Lavon Johnson and Kaden Beatty both hold quality Division I scholarship offers currently. Originally a Class of 2022 prospect, Johnson reclassified earlier this year to 2023 and will attend Cheshire Academy in Connecticut in the fall. Both Maryland and Temple have offered.

Beatty is up over 20 Division I offers totals. Army, Navy and Kent State are among the FBS schools to offer. He also holds a few quality Ivy League offers, too.
It should also be noted that defensive end Andrew Sharga is currently committed to walk-on at Penn State in the fall.
