Penn State moves up in Coaches Poll & AP Top 25
Penn State has struggled at times following losses to Ohio State, but that wasn’t the case Saturday. Facing an Indiana squad that’s now lost six straight games, Penn State played one of its best all-around performances of the season, defeating the Hoosiers 45-14.
That win moved the Lions up two spots to No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 and one spot to No. 15 in the Coaches Poll.
Penn State’s two losses are now to the second and third-ranked teams in the country in Ohio State and Michigan, respectively. Both of the Buckeyes and Wolverines are on course for an undefeated showdown in Columbus the Saturday after Thanksgiving. If both could end up in the College Football Playoff, it opens up the possibility for the Lions to play in the Rose Bowl.
Illinois ended up losing its second game of the season to Michigan State Saturday, but the Illini remain ranked at No. 20 in the Coaches Poll and No. 21 in the AP Top 25.

Up next for Penn State is a game against 6-3 Maryland. The Terps are receiving a few votes in the Coaches Poll and likely would’ve crack the Top 25 this week if they didn’t lose to Wisconsin yesterday.
With three top 10 teams losing this week, the was plenty of movement ahead of Penn State in both polls. Tennessee is now No. 5 in the nation, while Alabama is now No. 10 in AP Poll and No. 11 in the Coaches Poll. Clemson now sits at No. 12 in both.
