Penn State offers Beaver Stadium progress report, 2027 West Club seating info

Meeting with reporters this winter, Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft described the moment of realization with Beaver Stadium. What had been a project taking up significant time and energy to get off the ground, rallying support and organizing designs on a $700 million revitalization project, had finally come to fruition in January.
“We were at the [Chicago outdoor game] in hockey. I flew back, got back at two in the morning. I’m getting home and we’ve got that blizzard. I was like, ‘Man, I bet there’s going to be nobody here to watch [the press box demolition],” said Kraft. “And sure as heck, there’s 400 people there. That’s why I love this place. The fans are so passionate. Then when it fell down, I’m like, ‘Oh boy. This is real.'”
Monday, two new updates from the Penn State athletic department offered milemarkers for the progress made on the project thus far.
Laying the foundation
Though the earliest makings of the structure that will undergird the west side of Beaver Stadium were visible during the Blue-White Game last month, even more progress has been in the time since. And, the program has turned to former All-American linebacker Michael Mauti to deliver updates via its social media channels.
Monday, a video was released showing construction crews at work, with Mauti educating fans about the process of putting a new foundation in for the storied stadium’s west side.
As explained by Mauti, over 60,000 square feet in diameter of concrete will be put into the ground with over 1,200 micropiles due to be installed. And, critically, the entire footprint of the west side stadium project is expected to be finished by late-August, clearing the way for temporary seating at the start of the Nittany Lions’ 2025 football season.

“We’ll have temp seating. Think of Northwestern a little bit, how they built that stadium on the lake. Or if you go to the Waste Management Open, they built that stadium around [hole] 16. Those are the folks that are doing the production. You’ll see,” Kraft explained in February. “How do I best describe it? There’s that lip that we took the top part off. There will be bleachers; I think it’s 7,400 or so in that space. We’re looking to even see if we can add more seats to that. It’ll look very temporary.
“We should be at full capacity with the [temporary seating]. It will be really, really close and you’ll see a little bit of the construction footprint, but you should be able to get in still.”
New rendering gives interior visual
Along with Mauti’s short video update, Penn State athletics also distributed a mass email to fans of the program on Monday. Providing a FAQ regarding purchasing west side club seats, deadlines for deposits on premium seating have also been extended.
The two club seating areas being presold, the Marzano Club Seats and the Schuyler Family Club Seats, were also further clarified with a new rendering showing both. Spanning the west side from the south end zone to the north, the Marzano seats will be the lowest deck of outdoor seats upon the stadium’s completion, overhanging the bottom bowl of the stadium. As pictured, the Schuyler club seats will then be planted between the 30 yard lines, closest to the field, with access to the all-inclusive lounge directly behind the seats.

Other items of interest from the FAQ include:
- The ante for club seat access is being assessed as a $10,000 capital gift for account holders, not individual seats. Donors can pay it out over a three-year period, with initial payments due on June 30.
- Club seats have variable contracts of 5, 7, or 10 years with built-in cost increases that change depending on the term of the contract.
- All you can eat food and drink, and one parking pass for every pair of seats purchased, are included with club seats.
