It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with an official welcome for the Lions’ latest transfer portal addition. Former Florida State receiver Malik McClain started classes at Penn State this week and has now been officially welcomed by the Lions and is listed on the team’s online roster.

The Daphne, Ala., native, who graduated from Bradenton, Fla., IMG Academy, is listed at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds. He, like the rest of the program’s high school January enrollees and portal prospect pickups, does not yet have a jersey number assignment. But it marks another milestone as he prepares for spring practice.

In other news, Penn State sent out numerous new underclassmen offers on Thursday. One went to Kennedy Urlacher, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound Class of 2024 corner out of Arizona who is the son of former NFL standout linebacker Brian Urlacher.

The rest of the new offers went to a quartet of 2025 prospects. Florida receiver Joshua Moore, On3 four-star corner Amari Wallace, who hails from Miami, Cheltenham, Pa., edge Sharlandiin Strange, and On3 four-star linebacker Marquise Davis, who is from Cleveland, are all now on the Lions’ board.

Quote of the day

“If I take everything that my coaches told me, especially Deion [Barnes], with being consistent and all those things, I think I’ll be set up great for next season.

“With my development, that played a big part this season. I was able to work on and figure out things that I never figured out at my previous college. I’m glad I’m here. That’s my main focus right now. I’m happy.”
