Penn State Photos: Incoming transfers and January enrollees spotted at first spring practice

Penn State head coach James Franklin and his staff opened spring practice Tuesday, and like so many other teams across the country, there’s no shortage of newcomers that the media was able to see up close for the first time.
This year, the Nittany Lions brought in a handful of incoming transfers, most notably wide receivers Kryon Hudson and Devonte Ross. Franklin spoke highly of each of them Tuesday afternoon.
“Whoever you talk to from his previous institution and on our current team, everybody just loves the guy,” Franklin said when asked about Hudson, who previously played at USC. “Tremendous work ethic. Obviously, [he] made some big-time plays. Everybody saw the huge catch he made against LSU, the one-handed catch. So, he’s done it at this level before.”

But even beyond the transfers, Penn State also added 16 new players from its Class of 2025 as early enrollees back in January. That list includes former five-star prospect and Pennsylvania tight end Andrew Olesh.
