Penn State picks up massive commitment from top 2026 OT Kevin Brown
Penn State’s Class of 2026 is off to a fast start, and the Nittany Lions just landed their biggest catch yet in the cycle. Harrisburg (Pa.) offensive tackle Kevin Brown, ranked No. 37 overall in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Rankings, has announced his commitment to Penn State. He was among the marquee visitors at the Nittany Lions’ Lasch Bash this weekend and arguably Penn State’s top overall target in the early stages of the 2026 cycle.
Penn State targeted Brown since he was a freshman at Harrisburg High, where his father Tim Brown was a standout offensive lineman before going on to start for West Virginia and eventually play in the NFL.
“They’re extremely honest and clear. That’s the main thing,” Brown said when asked what stands out about Penn State’s staff so far. “I like the way [Phil] Trautwein has gone about recruiting me. I feel like he’s pretty laid-back and just overall a nice guy.”
Brown will join Harrisburg teammate Messiah Mickens, California quarterback Troy Huhn and Delaware wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers in the Nittany Lions’ budding Class of 2026. Mickens and Huhn are both Top 100 prospects according to the On3 Industry rankings.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect is the No. 3 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 1 prospect in Pennsylvania according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He checks in at No. 28 overall in On3’s own rankings. All four services rate Brown as a Top 100 prospect.

The new Penn State commit will flirt with five-star status and he’s already one of the top offensive line prospects in Pennsylvania history.
“Kevin Brown is such a dynamic athlete as an offensive lineman,” said On3 Scouting Director Charles Power. “There just aren’t many offensive linemen that you watch, especially being that young, that operate with the level of twitch that he has. He’s extremely twitchy and violent, and that helps make him an outstanding run blocker at the second level, too.”
Power went on to add, “He’s a guy that has a great frame as well. You look at him physically and he doesn’t really look like an offensive lineman. I mean that as a compliment. His weight distribution is impressive. He’s basically 260 pounds of straight muscle. But again, he also moves extremely well, so there’s certainly a wow factor to his film. I think he’s one that’s certainly worth getting excited about. I think it’s a pretty good year for interior offensive linemen and really offensive line in general in 2026. It’s still early, but I came away thinking that Brown is certainly one of the best guys at that position.”
Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and others all offered Brown during the process. Brown visited Penn State nine times since coming onto the radar as a prospect in 2022.
