Two Penn State players land on Walter Camp Award watch list
Penn State has candidates for the Walter Camp Award. The honor goes to the most outstanding college football player as voted by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Multiple Nittany Lions made the cut.
Running back Nicholas Singleton is one of them. He made the preseason watch list for yet another postseason honor. He is joined by left tackle Olu Fashanu, who is a projected first round NFL Draft pick.
Former Lions running back Larry Johnson is the only Nittany Lion to ever win the Walter Camp Award. He claimed it in 2002 after rushing for 2,078 yards and 20 touchdowns. He finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting that year.

Lions camp updates
Blue-White Illustrated has had continuing coverage as PSU preseason camp continues. Our team was at Thursday night’s media availability. There, head coach James Franklin discussed the quarterback battle between sophomores Drew Allar and Beau Pribula.
“It’s a mix,” Franklin said. “I would say Drew’s getting the majority of the [first-team] reps, but I think [Beau] is getting a few. But I would say Drew’s getting the majority of them.”
He also discussed the team’s offensive line.
“We really look at Hunter [Nourzad] and Olu [Fashanu] as kind of like the foundation of the o-line,” Franklin said. “I think Caden [Wallace] is starting to work into that category. And, so is Sal [Wormley].”
