We start with the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Seventy-eight former players are on this year’s list of potential inductees. Three of them played for Penn State. Former first-team All-American and running back Ki-Jana Carter made the cut. So, too, did one-time All-American back D.J. Dozier. The Lions’ legacy on defense, then, is represented on this year’s rundown by two-time All-American linebacker Paul Posluszny.
Penn State already has 20 former players and five previous coaches in the CFB Hall of Fame. The most recent inductee was linebacker LaVar Arrington.

In other news, Penn State sent out new recruiting offers on Monday. The Lions now have their hat in the ring for 2026 Philadelphia defensive lineman Alex Haskell and 2027 California receiver Delontay Williams.
Finally, for this section, PSU had a roster update on Monday. Freshman tight end Mega Barnwell is no longer with the Nittany Lions. A reason was not immediately available. The Fredericksburg, Va., native and former three-star recruit spent the spring in State College. But, he never made it to his first preseason camp.

Quote of the day
“Although we’ve had some good ones here, that’s probably been the difference between us winning three New Year’s Six bowl games and getting into the playoff and winning a national championship, is having an elite quarterback that can make the plays that change games.”
