STATE COLLEGE – Penn State’s offense put together one of its best games of the season Saturady night, leading to a 35-6 win over Washington. Throughout the season, the offense has started slow at times, but that wasn’t an issue in front of a White Out crowd Saturday night, as quarterback Drew Allar led the Nittany Lions to four consecutive touchdowns to open the game.

“For sure,” Allar said when asked after the game if the first half was the best half of football the offense has put together this season. “Having four drives and scoring on all those drives in different facets. [We scored] at the end of the half with a two-minute drive and had a score right before that. We scored right before that. We scored 14 points in the first part of the middle eight. That’s a credit to the defense, too, getting us the ball back with a lot of time and still having two timeouts….But I think we just played really good complementary football in the first half.”

Allar started the game 16 of 20 and finished 20 of 28 for 220 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown was to Pennsylvania native Julian Fleming, which was his first since joining Penn State’s program. However, once again, tight end Tyler Warren led the team in receiving, totaling eight receptions for 74 yards. Warren also had two touchdowns down near the goal line rushing the ball.

“You can see how many ways we got him involved today,” Allar said when asked about Warren after the game. “Run game-wise, pass game-wise and even some of our option stuff. We just try to get him involved in the game plan as much as we can because we know the type of player he is and how much he helps our offense generate explosive plays in general.”

Offensively, Penn State totaled 486 yards against the Huskies. Allar surpassed 2,000 yards passing for the season. He’s up to 13 touchdown passes and has five interceptions.
