Rising 2025 prospect set to visit Penn State twice in March
Penn State’s visitor list for the month of March continues to grow. Head coach James Franklin and his staff have already locked up visits with dozens of 2024 and 2025 prospects, the most recent of which to confirm is New England athlete David Rodriguez.
A Class of 2025 prospect, Rodriguez earned an offer from the Nittany Lions in January. He played last season as a freshman (2026) at Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Conn. It took just one season for Rodriguez to earn more than a dozen Division I scholarship offers.
Last week, he decided to reclassify and move up a year to the 2025 class, transferring to Mt. Pleasant in Rhode Island. He also tweeted that he’d like to make “an early college decision,” which is a major reason why he wants to visit Penn State twice this month. The first of those visits will be next weekend, March 17. He’ll then travel back to Happy Valley on March 25.

But Penn State isn’t the only school Rodriguez plans to see this spring. This weekend, he has a visit scheduled to Michigan, March 10-12. He’ll follow that up with a visit to South Carolina on March 23. Trips to Florida State and TCU are also possible later this year.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 165 pounds, Rodriguez could play either offense or defense at the next level. It’s still unclear when exactly he’d like to commit, but is expected to be one of the region’s top prospects for 2025.
Rodriguez has visited Penn State once before, traveling to State College last April to watch spring practice. He’s also been to UConn, Florida State and Syracuse previously.
In addition to the schools he plans to visit, Rodriguez also holds offers from Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Purdue, Syracuse, TCU and West Virginia, among others.
