Penn State weekly offers roundup: Lions offer in-state safety, blue-chip tackle

Penn State Nittany Lions football offered 14 prospects over the last week.

Let’s dive into the full list, starting with the Class of 2023.

A’Marion Peterson – 2023 RB

We begin our roundup this week with a pair of Texas running backs in the Class of 2023. A’Marion Peterson is the No. 200 overall prospect in the class according to On3, and the No. 9 running back. At 6-foot-1, 182 pounds, Peterson plays for Hirschi High School. He released a top five about two months ago that included Baylor, USC, Cincinnati, Texas Tech and Missouri.

Kalib Hicks – 2023 RB

The other Texas running back for us to discuss is Kalib Hicks. Hicks plays for Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, and is the No. 171 overall prospect and No. 6 running back in his class according to On3. Coming in at 5-foot-10 and 195 pounds, Hicks took an unofficial visit to Alabama last week and also holds offers from the likes of Auburn and Miami.

Kaleb Jackson – 2023 RB

Sticking with the running back position, we move on to Kaleb Jackson, who plays for Liberty Magnet High School in Baton Rouge. He is the No. 271 overall prospect and the No. 16 running back in the cycle according to On3. He has taken unofficial visits to LSU, Alabama and Oregon.

Fredrick Moore – 2023 WR

The Nittany Lions offered Class of 2023 wideout Fredrick Moore from Cardinal Ritter College Prep in Saint Louis this week, too. He’s a three-star prospect according to On3 and the On3 Consensus, and is listed at 6-foot, 162 pounds. He’s visited several midwest programs, including Iowa and Iowa State, and has an official visit scheduled to Illinois.

Tamarcus Cooley – 2023 ATH

We conclude this week’s 2023 offers with Knightdale, North Carolina’s Tamarcus Cooley. Listed as an athlete, Cooley plays safety and wideout at the high school level, and comes in at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. An unranked prospect, his stock has ballooned lately with offers from a handful of high-level programs. He’s visited NC State twice, along with Appalachian State and Louisville.

Penn State’s Class of 2024 offers this week

Christian Bentancur – 2024 TE

We start our 2024 section this week with 6-foot-5, 235-pound tight end Christian Bentancur out of Marion Central Catholic in Illinois. Unranked as of yet, Bentancur was on Penn State’s campus in early January. He’s also made visits to six other schools, including Iowa and Michigan State.

Daniel Calhoun – 2024 OT

One of the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2024 cycle received a Penn State offer this week. Daniel Calhoun is the No. 33 overall prospect and the No. 2 offensive tackle according to the On3 Consensus rankings. Already at 6-foot-6, 350 pounds as he concludes his sophomore year of high school, Calhoun has visited Florida, Clemson, Auburn and Georgia three times.

Lamar Booker – 2024 WR

Class of 2024 wideout Lamar Booker earned an offer from the Nittany Lions after making a visit to campus this week. An unranked prospect, he plays for Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia, and is listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds. Virginia and Virginia Tech have also offered him.

Yasin Willis – 2024 RB

Like Booker, Willis picked up an offer during a visit to campus this week. Out of St. Joseph Regional in New Jersey, Willis is listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds. An unranked prospect, Temple, Boston College, Pitt and Syracuse have also offered. Willis has also made the trip to Syracuse.

Jaylen Harvey – 2024 EDGE

Out of Quince Orchard in Potomac, Maryland, Jaylen Harvey is a blue-chip EDGE prospect. Listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, he’s ranked as the No. 126 overall prospect and the No. 12 EDGE in the 2024 cycle by On3. Harvey received an offer after visiting campus on Monday. He’s also been to Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Mikey Preston – 2024 S

The final 2024 offer to cover this week went to an in-state prospect. Mikey Preston is an unranked safety out of Roman Catholic High School in Philly. Listed at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds, Preston picked up his offer after visiting campus this week. His only other offer at this point is from West Virginia.

PSU’s Class of 2025 and 2026 offers this week

Brayden Jacobs – 2025 OT

Both of our Class of 2025 prospects to cover this week are Georgia offensive tackles. We start with Brayden Jacobs out of St. Francis High School in Alpharetta. Listed at 6-foot-4, 264 pounds, Jacobs holds offers from Kansas State and UCF. His only visit to this point has been to UCF.

Nicolai Brooks – 2025 OT

Also from St. Francis High School, Brooks is a 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive tackle prospect. Unranked as of now, Brooks holds offers from Georgia and Ole Miss.

Dequane Prevo – 2026 ATH

Penn State became the third offer for eighth-grade prospect Dequane Prevo out of Texarkana, Texas. A 5-foot-11 athlete, Prevo’s other offers are from Missouri and Arkansas State. He’s also been on campus at Texas A&M, but the Aggies haven’t offered yet.
