STATE COLLEGE — Penn State football has updated its 2024 roster with number changes ahead of the first spring practice of the year on Tuesday.

Number changes

The first number change we learned about earlier this year was Kevin Winston Jr. The starting safety is moving from No. 21 to No. 2 for the 2024 season.

“In high school I wore it two, so I wanted to get back,” Winston said in February. “I like the single digits. just a little something to change. Just wanted to go back to two. I love 21, I was always wearing that for Sean Taylor, that love never changes, but I wanted to get to that single digit. Two opened up and that’s my favorite number.”

Backup pass catcher Tyler Johnson is up to 197 from 183 pounds. New receiver Josiah Brown is up to 175 from 165.
