Penn State football overcomes Drew Allar injury to beat Rutgers 27-6: Recap

It is game day again, Penn State football fans. The No. 12 Nittany Lions play their penultimate game of the regular season and final home contest today when they face Rutgers (6-4) at Beaver Stadium. It is Senior Day, and a number of players will be honored during a pregame ceremony before kickoff.
“I hope it’s a great environment, [and] I hope the fans show their appreciation for all the hard work that these guys have put in representing the university the right way both on and off the field,” Lions coach James Franklin said this week. “So, yeah, I would love for them to get a feel for the sense of appreciation that we have for them. Play well, get a win, all those things included.”
Greg Schiano leads Rutgers into Beaver Stadium. He has not beat Penn State during his second stint in Piscataway.
“They are one of the Top 15 teams in America,” Schiano said this week. “They are playing at that level now. That’s what I would say the biggest thing is they have gotten better over the course of the season and they are playing at a high level.”
