Penn State safety Jaylen Reed preparing for SMU after posting apparent car crash photo

Penn State safety Jaylen Reed is OK after posting an apparent car crash photo sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. The since deleted post showed the Nittany Lion at the scene of what looked like a car accident. But, all indications are that he will be ready for the sixth-seeded Nittany Lions matchup with No. 11 SMU on Dec. 21 at Beaver Stadium.
“Jaylen Reed was involved in a car accident,” a Penn State spokesperson said. “We are happy he’s okay and there were no serious injuries.

“He will continue to prepare for this weekend.”
Reed is the one of the stars of the Penn State defense. He is an All-Big Ten pick and is the team’s leading tackler with 79 stops. He also has 4.5 tackles for loss. And, he has a team-high three interceptions.
Penn State coach James Franklin will first address reporters ahead of the meeting with the Mustangs on Monday. He will likely have more to say about Reed’s status then. But, for now, all signs point to him being OK for next Saturday’s matchup.
Penn State is an 8.5-point favorite. Kickoff is set for Noon ET. TNT will televise the game.
