Penn State news, notes, and updates for May 3 include Jonathan Sutherland going in the CFL Draft, plus new Nittany Lion offers and more.

It’s time to dive into Wednesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with the Canadian Football League. Former Penn State defender and Ottawa native Jonathan Sutherland was picked by the Montreal Alouettes in the first round of Tuesday night’s CFL Draft with the No. 5 overall selection. The linebacker has also signed an undrafted free-agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks. He will presumably see how long his NFL career lasts before deciding whether or not to move on to the CFL. But, if he does, his time there would start in Montreal.

In other news, Penn State has sent out numerous new high school offers to start the week. They went to the following prospects:

“He’s played in big games. That kid coming into the environment in Lambeau, it’s not going to be too big for him. That experience factor, along with some of the moxie he has, to me it’s a culmination of who he is.”
