Penn State tweets of the day

We start with recruiting. Penn State has sent out a new preferred walk-on offer. It went to Manheim Central Class of 2024 senior standout Aaron Enterline. The 2022 all-state pick had 80 receptions for 1,508 yards and 25 touchdowns this season. He also had five interceptions, including a pair of pick sixes.

In other news, On3 Jesse Simonton ranked Drew Allar at No. 8 on a list of 10 potential 2024 Heisman Trophy winners.

“If you polled Penn State fans before the season and told them that Allar would throw for 23 touchdowns to just one interception, many Nittany Lions faithful would’ve predicted they won the Big Ten,” he writes. “Instead, James Franklin fired his second straight OC

“Allar has Heisman Trophy potential, and perhaps new PSU offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki can tap into that next season. The Nittany Lions will again be a likely Top 10-12 preseason team and a contender for the Big Ten. If Allar can win a spotlight game (say Michigan or Ohio State) and keep the Nittany Lions in the playoff hunt, he will at least be a name mentioned throughout the race.”

Quote of the day

“I’m here to support them. I’m here to do whatever I can. I can be a sounding board for them. But I’m here to just support in any way I can. And I know everyone thinks that’s financially related. It’s not. But I also want to make sure I challenge them to think big and think in a different way than what was thought of in the past. I would like to think I’m a person they can lean on to say, what do you think here? Because sometimes it’s always better to have outside eyes looking at it.

“So, I think that’s how it works but we’re partners, all of us, in this. That’s kind of how it works. That’s the way I believe it should work. They make the decisions and they do what’s right for their program. They know their programs. James knows this program better than anybody. I have a good feeling for what I see, but that’s just a small part of it.”
