New Penn State-Ole Miss Peach Bowl prediction is in: Newsstand
Penn State news, notes, and updates for Dec. 26 include a closer look at the Peach Bowl, headlines of the day, and more.
It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
We start with one of two looks at the Peach Bowl. ESPN’s Bill Connelly has a key storyline for every bowl game remaining. One of them is the No. 10 Nittany Lions matchup with No. 10 Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, of course. Kickoff is set for Noon ET on Dec. 30 in Atlanta, Ga. ESPN will air the game.
“These two teams are both mostly intact — PSU end Chop Robinson is for now the only major opt-out — but this one’s huge for narrative purposes,” Connelly writes. “Penn State has won 21 games in a row against teams not named Michigan or Ohio State. With a number of potential star juniors, 2024 will be a huge season for the Nittany Lions. The same goes for Ole Miss, with losses only to Alabama and Georgia this season. Either or both of these teams should see playoff expectations with next year’s expanded CFP.”

In other news, Penn State is predicted to beat Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl 30-24 by ESPN. With a win, the Lions would become the first program in college football’s history to win all six NY6 games.
“A win for Penn State would be a second consecutive in the New Year Six following last year’s Rose Bowl triumph,” On3 writes. “There might be frustrations with Franklin but it’s tough to complain about another 11-win year.”

Quote of the day
“It’s about takeaways, tackling, and effort. We install those three things every day.
One thing we’ve been known for is disguising things, making that quarterback really process when the ball gets snapped. We take a lot of pride in that. We spend a lot of time with that. And changing windows, being able to be aggressive with that.”
