It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and football.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with recruiting. A monster visit weekend is ahead as the Nittany Lions go through one final Saturday practice before next weekend’s Blue-White game. Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz have tracked the visitor list for Blue-White Illustrated subscribers all week. But, prospects will be in town Friday, too. Two of those confirmed prospects made their travel plans public on Thursday.

The first is Stacy Gage. The 5-foot-10, 205-pound junior is a running back at Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. A four-star, he claims 25 offers to date. This will mark his first trip to State College.

The other prospect who made his travel plans clear is also from the Sunshine State. Three-star Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., offensive lineman Jake Guarnera will be in town today. The junior stands 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, and this will be his fourth unofficial visit to campus.

In other news, Joey Porter Jr., continues to visit NFL teams before the Draft later this month. His latest stop was in Baltimore on Thursday. A projected first-round pick, mock drafts have him going anywhere from Washington to New England to Baltimore to Pittsburgh.

Quote of the week

“I graduate this spring, so I’ll be leaving Minnesota with my degree. I love my teammates, I love the people in Minnesota. but I just felt that the most beneficial move for me next in my career was to leave Minnesota. At some point I felt like like my strengths weren’t always used when I was on the field and things like that. So I just felt like it was it was time for a change and I think change will be the most positive for me.”
