The Penn State Football team concluded spring practice last Saturday with the 2024 Blue-White Game. The focus, as it has been for nearly 12 months, was on the team’s passing game. Heading into the Blue-White Game, the intensity climbed to a fever pitch when top wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith left the program the week of the game and put his name into the transfer portal.  Since then,, the questions surrounding the team’s pass catchers have intensified. After the Blue-White Game, Penn State head coach James Franklin was asked twice about how comfortable he was with his wide receiver room.  “I love our wide receivers. They have a bunch of talent in the room. I think they got a chance to take the next step. I believe they’re going to take the next step. I think Maques (Hagans) has done a really good job this spring,” Franklin repeated when asked the second time.   So, how does Penn State go about replacing Lambert-Smith? The easiest way is for the team to elevate younger players at his position and keep marching. So, who is the next man up?
