Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a trip for the Penn State football program. The Lions made what has mostly been an annual trip to the Penn State Health Children’s Hospital on Wednesday. Aside from a pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, head coach James Franklin has routinely brought his team to Hershey for a late May or early June opportunity to visit with patients and their families.

“Getting back here brings back great memories and it’s really good to hear some of the stories of the doctors and nurses that have been here for a long time, and I think it’s great for the community,” Franklin said, per PennLive. “I also think it’s good for our players, I think it gives them perspective. I truly appreciate the opportunity to be here and hopefully make a positive impact and put a smile on people’s faces.”

In other news, Blue-White Illustrated has been reporting upcoming June official visitors to subscribers for weeks. Now, many of those players are making their trips public.

The list of prospects set to be on campus for a 48-hour all-expenses-paid experience at Penn State this Friday through Sunday includes (but is not limited to, see the full group of names at the link above):

–Four-star Florida receiver Chance Robinson

Quote of the day

“Our daughter has sickle cell, which can be a very challenging disease. We’ve been blessed and fortunate so far… I think it’s been enlightening for us as parents. So, you know, obviously being able to come and do some things like this and be able to build some relationships shows we’re all in this together at Penn State, and we’re all in this together in the state of Pennsylvania.

“What I’m hopeful of is that a little bit of our time allowed some families and some kids to be able to get their mind off maybe some of the challenges and issues that they’re facing at the present moment.”
