We start with a recruiting announcement that is on the horizon. Boulder, Co., Fairview Class of 2025 quarterback Bekkem Kritza will make his college choice today. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound junior will pick between Penn State, Colorado, Kansas, Miami, and Washington. The announcement is at 7 pm ET. The Lions lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine by a considerable margin.
In other news, Rutgers coach Greg Schiano talked about the Lions on Monday ahead of the teams’ Saturday meeting at Beaver Stadium.
“They are really good,” Schiano said of the Lions defense. “They are good at all three levels, [and] they run as well as any defense I’ve seen in a long time. Their front runs. Their defensive ends run as well as most team’s safeties. They really have an unusual group of talent there this year.
“So, big challenge. Certainly have our hands full. Working hard to try to figure it out.”
On the Lions having co-offensive coordinators, he said:
“They are all good coaches. They will have a great plan put together, I’m sure. You know, when you look at their personnel, that’s what I know. They have got two elite running backs, really, really good running backs, a very good offensive line with an elite tackle. They have two or three depending on who is judging, I think, great tight ends. A young quarterback who is as acclaimed as they come and receivers that are definitely on the up.

Quote of the day
“I got to tour the whole facility, the whole campus, the school part, everything. They showed me around the whole school and I got to meet with pretty much all of their coaches, including the head coach. So, it was really a full visit. The only thing we didn’t do was a photo shoot. I was probably there for two-and-a-half hours.
“But that first visit was really all about getting to know them. That made me really want to come back because they’re all really cool and really good coaches. They had just offered me at the time, and I’m not sure they knew how good I was until after that visit and they watched my film more because after that, we’ve been building a relationship over the phone really well and I’ve moved up towards the top of their board now. So, it’s all happened pretty fast, but I really like being around their coaches and the university.”
