Penn State tweets of the day
We start with recruiting. Top Penn State Class of 2024 offensive line target Andrew Dennis has decommitted from Michigan State. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound senior guard from Mount Pleasant, Mich., has been committed to the Spartans since April 8.
Dennis wrote about his commitment on social media.
“As everyone knows, the fear of the unknown is scary,” Dennis posted. “When you are a recruit and trying to plan your future, it is even more so. After patiently monitoring the situation, and many conversations with my parents and everyone who has supported me through this process, at this time I have decided to de-commit from Michigan State and reopen my recruitment.
“I will still be considering Michigan State as one of my choices, though. I would like to thank the entire MSU coaching and support staff for the opportunity to be a Spartan. Would especially like to thank Coach (Chris) Kapilovic, and Coach (Jacob) Lail for investing so much time into my recruiting process and believing in my as a football player and as a person. I will be forever grateful for both of you!, [and] Iwould also like to thank the Spartan fans and community for all the love and support. Much love to you Spartan Nation.”

In other news, ESPN’s midseason takeaways say the moment of truth for the Lions is coming up this weekend at Ohio State. An easier path to the College Football Playoff is on the line for both sides.
“What transpires in the Horseshoe in five days and then three weeks later when Michigan comes calling Nov. 11 may go a long way in defining Franklin’s tenure, especially with realignment dramatically changing the look of the Big Ten in 2024 and beyond,” Blake Baumgardner writes.

Quote of the day
“He’s been a major factor. Coach Barnes has been recruiting me since I was a freshman, so that’s a good connection that we got. [Franklin] has been playing a good role, too. He’s been keeping in contact with me, my mom, my dad. He’s been checking up on my entire family.”
