We start on the recruiting front.

Roanoke, Va., Patrick Taylor High four-star receiver Carmelo Taylor was set to decide on July 25. However, he has pushed his decision date back for the time being. Penn State was a finalist along with South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He took official visits to all three programs.

“Hello everyone, I wanted to let everyone who have been following me, that my commitment date has been pushed back,” Taylor wrote on Twitter. “This is the most important decision of my life, so I want to make sure I’m making the right choice. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.”

A new date has not yet been set.

According to a news release, the NCAA D1 Council has “endorsed a concept that would eliminate the blanket rule prohibiting transferring more than once.”

If approved by the NCAA Board of Directors, the new concept would allow players to transfer for free as many times as they want. Undergraduates can currently only change schools once without having to sit out a season.

In addition to that, transfer windows are likely coming, as well. For football players, one window would open for 45 days after the College Football Playoff field was set. The other would run May 1 through May 15.

Finally, for this section, former Penn State running back Bill Belton is now the head coach at Atco, N.J., Winslow Township High. He was the offensive coordinator last year. The school’s previous coach stepped down in June for personal reasons.
