Penn State tweets of the day
We start with recruiting. Akron, Ohio Archbishop Hoban four-star Class of 2024 offensive lineman William Satterwhite put the Lions in his top nine, along with Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee. Penn State leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but the Tigers, Bulldogs, and Volunteers have an edge in the junior’s mind.
“The more trips I took and the more places I could compare to each other had me feeling differently about the schools on my list,” Satterwhite told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I saw a lot of different things on visits and it has helped me piece it all together and have a set list now. That’s when Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee moved to the top three.
“I got a real feeling at those schools and it felt like home for me. It was like I was with my high school team and I felt secure at those schools. They made me feel important and I had an overall good time at all three schools.”
In other news, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receivers coach Brad Idzik outlined to the team’s official website the plan for Lions alum Chris Godwin in 2023.

When you put him outside, this guy is a problem one-on-one. . . . I gave him the example of Larry Fitzgerald,” Idzik said, per Pro Football Talk. “Towards the end of his career, when he started to lose some of his explosion, his downfield ability, then he was limited to the slot.
“Chris is not there yet. Chris still has that ability to win outside, so we don’t need him banging every play. And when we ask him to do it, he’ll do it, willingly, and we love that about him. But we do want to preserve him, too. We want him playing here for a long time.”

Quote of the day
“There has been a lot of talk about the 2024 quarterback cycle. I will say that, to this point, it’s one of the weaker classes at the top that I’ve seen since I’ve been doing this. I think it compares to the 2019 cycle, which I don’t believe has produced a first-round quarterback yet and I don’t believe it will.
“It may be a bit better. But my point is, if you’re still recruiting a quarterback in this cycle, Tyler Cherry is a guy I would be all over. I think this is a very resourceful offer by Penn State. And, I’m looking forward to learning more about him, especially considering that was his first year starting.”
