It’s time to dive into Wednesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

Penn State target Andrew Dennis, a four-star offensive guard from Mt. Pleasant, Mich., will make his college decision early next year. The Class of 2024 recruit will make his choice known on Jan. 6, 2024 at the All-American Bowl. He will play in the high school all-star game too, of course. Dennis, a former Michigan State commit, will take an official visit to see Penn State this weekend. Clemson, Illinois, Kentucky, Purdue, Michigan State, and Utah are the other contenders.

“What they told me was that they try to stray away from guys who already committed to be respectful,” Dennis told BWI. “We didn’t get into the Michigan State situation at all, but they made it clear that they’ve wanted to offer me for a while. Coach Slim [Chris Mahon] and Coach Khalil [Ahmad] were also on the phone, so we had a great conversation.

“But Coach Traut told me that he’s really liked me for a while. He came and saw me work out in the spring and loved everything he saw. So, he just said he’s excited about me and wanted to take the next step forward.”

Quote of the day

“I think it’s something that is very cool and innovative. Beau is a very good quarterback and athlete. It makes defenses game plan for one more thing. The more you can make defenses game plan for different packages, I think it helps us overall, because we’re able to mix up everything and add new wrinkles in. It’s something we’ll continue practicing, and if Coach Yurcich calls it, we’ll be ready to go out there and execute it.”
