Blue-White Illustrated subscribers learned inside insight about the Penn State offense and defense after the first Nittany Lion preseason camp practice on Wednesday. They will again this weekend when the team is back on the field. However, next weekend, the football program will offer fans a chance to look behind the curtain as preparations continue for the opener against West Virginia.

Penn State announced on Friday night that it will hold a two-hour practice that is open to members of the public on Sat., Aug. 12. Held at the Lasch practice fields, it will be free to attend. Gates open at 6:30, and the on-field work begins at 7 p.m. ET.

“There will be two locations for practice entry: the University Drive side of the Lasch Practice Fields, located to the left of Holuba Hall, and the front side of Holuba Hall facing East Area Locker Building,” a news release says. “The open practice is scheduled to last approximately two hours. For security purposes, all items are subject to inspection as fans enter the complex. Fan activities, including a kids zone and food trucks, will be present at practice.

“Fans can park for the autograph session and practice for $1 per hour in the Stadium West parking lot. Fans will be required to pay for parking via the ParkMobile app and enter 95112 as the zone number.”

Before practice starts, members of the Happy Valley United collective will have access to an exclusive autograph session from 5:35 p.m. – 6:20 p.m. That will be held inside Holuba Hall. Those who want to learn more about joining the collective, which has memberships starting at $25 per month, can do so by clicking here.
