Penn State news, notes, and updates for Jan. 11 include a 2024 four-star readying to see the Lions, plus a portal player who visited the program has rescheduled his decision date.

It’s time to dive into Wednesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with a few high school recruiting updates. Philadelphia St. Joe’s Prep four-star junior Omillio Agard has two January unofficial visits set. He will see Penn State on Jan. 21 and Clemson on Jan. 28. Both schools are in his top five, along with Michigan, Alabama, and Tenessee.

The nation’s No. 265 Class of 2024 recruit and No. 26 cornerback will decide this summer, presumably after he takes official visits. Agard saw all of those programs except the Crimson Tide during the fall. He has visited the Nittany Lions more than any other school, with four trips over the last two years.

In other underclassmen recruiting news, two new offers are out. Penn State joined the mix on Tuesday for Class of 2024 6-foot-8, 248-pound Cornelius, N.C., offensive tackle Eagen Boyer and Huntersville, N.C., Class of 2026 corner Samari Matthews.

In other news, former Bowling Green receiver Tyrone Broden was expected to pick his next school on Wednesday. He only visited Penn State and Oklahoma after entering the transfer portal. However, on the afternoon of Jan. 11, he said that he would be delaying his choice and that his “recruitment is still open.”

It’s unclear which school is leading entering decision day. Broden has not yet revealed when or how he will make his choice public. Over the last two seasons, he had 68 receptions for 1,092 yards and 12 touchdowns.
