Penn State tweets of the day
We start with a football recruiting visitor.
Brookline, Mass., Dexter School four-star offensive lineman Liam Andrews will be in town for spring practice number two. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound Class of 2024 offensive lineman is the No. 38 player overall in the On3 Consensus rankings and the No. 2 interior lineman.
Boston College, Michigan, Maryland, Michigan State, and South Carolina have all also offered so far. Ohio State and Notre Dame could be next.
This trip will mark the first time Anderson takes an unofficial visit to see Penn State.
Moving on to wrestling recruiting, Penn State made the top six for top Class of 2023 recruit Marc-Anthony McGowan. The Cadet World Champion and Blair Academy standout was No. 3 at 120 pounds in the last Open Mat rankings update last September. He figures to wrestle at either 125 or 133 pounds in college, likely starting at the former and perhaps one day working his way up to the latter.
Besides the Lions, Michigan, Princeton, Ohio State, Harvard, and Penn all also made the cut. A decision is coming “soon”, McGowan tweeted.

The 6-foot, 189-pound Class of 2023 receiver is the No. 28 player in the country and No. 5 pass catcher per the On3 Consensus player rankings.

Quote of the day
“I look at it as a great blessing and great opportunity to take advantage of all these great wrestlers,” Betancourt said. “Some of the best wrestlers in the world are training there. I’ve always been close with [133-pounder] Roman Bravo-Young, [125-pounder] Gary Steen, [184-pounder] Aaron Brooks, guys that I’ve looked up to since I was younger.
“Then, just like the environment and the culture, I feel like just getting there, and possibly having an impact right away on the team and setting the tone right away at 125, that’s my goal. I want to go in there and make an impact at 125 and be that guy.”
