Penn State to name letterman, Super Bowl champ Jordan Hill its new director of life skills for football
Penn State football is hiring what is believed to be its first director of life skills in program history. Lions letterman and Super Bowl champion Jordan Hill is taking the new position, sources told Blue-White Illustrated.
PennLive reported earlier this month that Hill, 33, submitted his resignation as the head coach at Trinity High School in Camp Hill, Pa. and met with his Shamrock players on May 13. The Steel-High legend was 21-15 as the program’s leader and won a District 3 Class 2A title in 2022.
“We are privileged that he came to Trinity and not only helped build the program, but he helped build the morale of the school,” Trinity athletic direction Alanna Stuart told PennLive.
Head coach James Franklin is no stranger to making first-of-its-kind roles within his program. In 2021, Leanne Louden became the first football-specific dietician in university history. She enters her fourth season with the Lions in 2024. Hill’s hiring should be officially announced by the Lions before the end of the month.
What will the new Penn State director of life skills do?
As is always the case, the responsibilities of any member of the football staff always include more responsibilities than just the ones listed on the job postings. But, from a specifics point of view, Penn State sought someone to handle, at minimum, the following tasks:

In other words, Hill will help members of the Penn State football roster with a litany of off-field tasks. And, considering his experiences as a player, coach, husband, father, community service advocate, and financial advisor, among other things, he and this role seem to fit like a glove.
