At Blue White Illustrated, we routinely preach patience and perspective when talking about Penn State Football. From weekly practice reports to the context behind our reporting, we try to put things in a realistic perspective. So when a player like Penn State defensive back Kolin Dinkins has a standout performance in the Blue-White Game, we acknowledge it, but try not to put too much extra emphasis on that over the rest of spring football. But sometimes, that performance does mean something. When Manny Diaz first arrived in Happy Valley, a converted safety named Dom DeLuca stepped in front of several passes from freshman quarterback Drew Allar. Fast forward a few years, and DeLuca is a core linebacker on the Nittany Lion's defense. This spring, a similar situation happened with Dinkins. The run-on had one of the standout performances during the spring scrimmage. Could he be in line for a more significant role in the defense? Let's examine the situation and see if there's merit to the idea.
