Penn State sets a tone with a 34-12 win over West Virginia

Most fans and media expect Penn State to get a decisive win against Bowling Green today. So, instead of focusing on the matchups with the team’s latest opponent, we’ll do some self-scouting for the Nittany Lions. What did they do well against West Virginia last week? Where can they improve? We’ll highlight the good plays, schemes, and players that stood out from last week.

We’ll discuss quarterback Drew Allar’s performance under pressure, the Penn State passing game, and more. Next, we’ll discuss what we learned or didn’t learn, about the defense under Tom Allen.

Young Players to watch today

Penn State’s young players got some exposure to live game action last week, but the depth of the roster didn’t see the field much in the second half. Will we see more freshmen on the field this afternoon? Tengwall will discuss which young players he thinks will see playing time and what he wants to learn about the team’s future stars.

But we won’t totally forget about the team on the field this afternoon. We’ll discuss what Bowling Green looks like as a team and where Penn State can attack to generate explosive plays and defensive stops.

More action from game-day coverage

Don’t go anywhere after the final whistle! We’ll have our live postgame show immediately following the conclusion of Penn State vs. Bowling Green.
