The Hills of Happy Valley are on fire. The yellow’s reds, and rusts of autumn roared to life this morning in a harsh autumn sunrise. But today, only two colors matter: Blue and white. The Penn State Nittany Lions take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, presumably for the right to face Michigan undefeated later in the season. We’ll preview the titanic showdown today on the Penn State football tailgate show, presented in conjunction with Seven Mountains Media, which comes to you live at 9 a.m. on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel and 99.5 The Bus.

Nittany Lions offense keys to victory 

 Can Penn State score enough points to put their defense in a position to succeed? We’ll discuss the keys to Mike Yurcich’s squad getting off to a hot start and maintaining balance and progress throughout the game. 

Penn State head coach James Franklin thinks it’s about maintaining your identity no matter the situation. 

“Yeah, I think what you have to be careful of is you have to understand and figure out what the identity of your team is and embrace that identity no matter what the outside world is saying.

You have to be comfortable in your own skin and own who you are and how you have to play. That doesn’t mean that you’re not looking to improve in certain areas,” he said. 

Does Penn State defense have the advantage? 

Penn State’s defense has lived up to the preseason hype with a dominant showing after a slow start to the season. Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz is putting together one of his career’s most historically stingy defenses. But what happens when they face off against the best offense they’ve seen this year?
