Penn State weekly offers roundup: March 22-28
Penn State Nittany Lions football issued nine scholarship offers in the last week.
Let’s break down all nine in this week’s offer roundup.
Penn State’s first offer of the week went to 2023 linebacker Grayson Howard. Howard, listed at 6-foot-3, 208 pounds, plays his high school football for Andrew Jackson HS in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the No. 130 overall prospect and the No. 7 linebacker in the cycle according to On3. Howard has taken four trips to South Carolina, and has also visited Florida, Florida State and Texas A&M twice each.
Daevin Hobbs is another 2023 prospect from the southern part of the country to earn a PSU offer this week. Hobbs stands at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, and plays for Jay M Robinson High School in Concord, North Carolina. He is not yet ranked by the major recruiting services. Hobbs has visited North Carolina twice and Tennesse and Wake Forest once. The latter two schools have not yet offered.
Caden Brown is a blue-chip EDGE prospect in the Class of 2024. On3 rates him as the No. 89 overall prospect in the class and the top prospect in the state of New York. He plays his high school football for Erasmus Hall and is listed at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. Brown has already visited Rutgers, and holds offers from Maryland, West Virginia, Nebraska and more.
Bud Coombs is a name to watch for the future. Penn State became the second program to offer the DeMatha Catholic running back, joining Boston College. Coombs is listed at 5-foot-9, 175 pounds. He is one of seven running backs the Nittany Lions have offered in the 2025 cycle.
More Penn State offers this week
Tomir Bransford is another Class of 2025 running back offered by Penn State this week. Like Coombs, he hails from the DMV. Bransford plays his high school ball for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. Boston College and UMass are his two other offers at the moment.
Penn State offered Ellenwood, Georgia prospect Kayin Lee this week. Lee is the No. 10 cornerback in the country according to On3, and the No. 75 overall prospect in the 2023 class. He has visited Georgia twice, along with separate trips to Florida, Florida State and UCF. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has him as a heavy Georgia lean.

Parish Episcopal School defensive lineman Caleb Mitchell became the third Texas prospect to receive a Penn State offer in the 2024 cycle this week. Mitchell is the No. 226 overall prospect in his class according to On3, and the No. 21 ranked defensive lineman. He is listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds. He’s visited TCU, Texas and Texas A&M twice, as well as Oklahoma State and SMU.
Tayvon Nelson received a Penn State offer this weekend after taking an unofficial visit to Happy Valley. The unranked 2023 cornerback is listed at 6-foot-2, 187 pounds. Out of Canarsie in Staten Island, New York, he has also taken an unofficial to West Virginia. Miami, Tennessee, Pitt and Ole Miss are among his other notable offers.
Arvell Reese is the No. 196 overall prospect in 2023 according to On3, and the 17th-ranked linebacker. Listed at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds, he plays for Glenville in Cleveland, Ohio. He is considered a heavy Ohio State lean by the Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Fayetteville, Georgia, linebacker Raul Aguirre is another highly rated linebacker offered by the Nittany Lions this week. Listed at 6-foot-1, 219 pounds, Aguirre is the No. 141 overall prospect in the 2023 class, and the No. 9 linebacker. He’s visited Auburn, Florida State and Miami twice.
