Penn State Whiteout Camp review and fallout: BWI Daily
Time for our weekly recruiting update presented by our friend Andy Luedecke at MyPerfectFranchise. Andy is a huge college sports fan and franchise veteran, having owned multiple franchises and businesses. Using his expertise, he helps others find their American Dream through a very thorough consultation and evaluation process.
Last weekend, Penn State’s two camps brought hundreds of prospects through campus, including some that left with a scholarship offer from the school. The BWI Daily Edition: Recruiting Show recaps the weekend, tracks the fallout from the event, and gets fans caught up on all the week’s important news.
Whiteout Camp review
Host Greg Pickel starts with the significant takeaways from insider Ryan Snyder about the Whiteout camp on Saturday. Then, Snyder gives his impressions of the event, who stood out, and what he noticed during the event. One of the biggest takeaways for Snyder was that there weren’t more high-level prospects at the event. It’s not a problem unique to Penn State but has been a growing trend around the country. Snyder explains what he thinks is going on and why this trend isn’t good for either side.
From there, he discusses the only Class of 2023 player to get an offer from the Whiteout camp, receiver Yazeed Hayes. The 6-1 prospect ran a blazing 40-yard dash and was a standout in the drills. Next, he recaps his conversation with Hayes and explains what comes next for the three-star receiver. He also highlights other players, including 2025 running back John Forster.
A recruiting slump predicted to continue
Next, they discuss some news that isn’t as good for Penn State. Snyder put a pick in for Clemson with four-star offensive tackle Zech Owens. Why? Snyder explains.
Finally, they discuss some of the other Whiteout camp events that deal with the committed players. Snyder was impressed with several offensive linemen, including 2024 center Cooper Cousins.

Penn State Tuesday takes
By Greg Pickel
Penn State football has three former players plus a current coach on the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame ballot. Will any of them make this year’s class? Our Tuesday takes offer an opinion on that, the Lions’ chances with recent official visitor Jason Moore, and the arrival of three new players.
Let’s dive in.
Will any Penn State connections make the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Class?
In case you missed it on Monday, linebacker Paul Posluszny, running back D.J. Dozier, and running back Ki-Jana Carter are all on the 2023 CFB HOF ballot, as is current receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield, who starred at Purdue before entering the coaching ranks. Carter is up to be voted on for the first time, while the other three have all been off and on the ballot in recent years.
Eighteen former college football greats were picked to be inducted in the 2022 class, including former Penn State standout LaVar Arrington. Eighty players are on this year’s ballot. So, roughly 20 percent of the candidates could get in.
