Penn State wide receiver target Elias Coke announces commitment date
Penn State may be closing in on another wide receiver for its Class of 2026. On Wednesday, Harrisburg native Elias Coke announced via social media that he’s ready to end his recruitment. The decision is expected to come next Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. ET. He’s narrowed his list of more than two dozen scholarship offers down to five schools: Penn State, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Rutgers.
A three-star prospect, Coke earned an offer from Penn State in June 2023 after a strong performance at one of the staff’s 7-on-7 tournaments. He’s been a consistent visitor ever since, totaling 11 trips to State College in less than two years. That’s by far the most visits he’s taken to any school.

Coke is also a high school teammate with two of Penn State’s Class of 2026 commits: running back Messiah Mickens and offensive lineman Kevin Brown. In fact, both Coke and Mickens have been playing football together since youth football. That relationship, along with Brown, is a good sign for the Nittany Lions.
“Of course, Messiah and Kev are always telling me, ‘Come on bro, you know this is home,’” Coke said when asked about how aggressively Mickens and Brown have been recruiting him. “But yeah, we talk about Penn State all the time with each other. We talk about the coaches and I’ve asked them how they feel about them and also why they picked Penn State.”

During his sophomore season, Coke totaled 45 receptions for 843 yards and 12 touchdowns in 14 games. He followed that up with another very good season this past fall, racking up 968 yards on 50 receptions, scoring 10 touchdowns.
If Coke does choose the Nittany Lions, he’ll be the fourth wide receiver to commit to Penn State. Wide receiver coach Marques Hagans then added Delaware native Jahsiear Rogers back on July 27. That was quickly followed by another commitment just a week later when DeMatha’s Lavar Keys committed after attending this year’s Whiteout Camp. Penn State also added Fort Wayne, Ind., native Jerquaden Guilford to the class just over a month ago on Dec. 6.
Currently, the Class of 2026 is ranked seventh nationally in On3’s Team Recruiting Rankings. The Industry Rankings, which are used to grade each class, credit Penn State with five four-star players and three three-star prospects.
