Penn State WR target Koby Howard set to announce college choice
Davie (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Koby Howard will make his decision on Sunday, August 4, he announced on Tuesday evening. The On3 Industry four-star prospect previously planned to make his choice on August 24. His announcement is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Howard has a final four that includes Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and Penn State. The Nittany Lions hosted him for an unofficial visit over the weekend.
“When I first got there, I toured around a little bit more. I didn’t get to see everything on my official visit and they said that had some new stuff built upstairs in their building, so I went to see that. It was really nice. But we had a great time at the barbecue and went to the pool. I had a good time at the camp as well, learning and taking points from Coach [Marques] Hagans. I did some individual drills with him and one-on-ones. That was a great experience. But overall, the vibe with all of Penn State’s coaches was great. It was a great time.”
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect also took an official visit to Penn State at the end of June and was at Ole Miss earlier in the month. He has an official visit scheduled to Florida on November 16, which is a trip very much penciled in at this point. He’s been to Gainesville 10 times during the process, most recently in March.
Howard’s first trip to Penn State was an official visit on the weekend of June 21. He returned for an unofficial visit over the weekend for the Lasch Bash, where he worked out for the Nittany Lions on Saturday.

“I got to talk to Coach [James] Franklin after everything and we had a great conversation,” Howard said. “He was telling me that I looked great and also gave me some pointers on some things. But Coach Franklin said my workout went great and that I did a really good job at camp. He said they didn’t need to see too much, but they wanted to see a little something, so that went well.”
Last season, Howard totaled 65 receptions in 10 games, totaling 1,065 yards receiving and eight touchdowns. He also had 26 rushes for 224 yards and one score on special teams. He currently holds a four-star rating in On3’s Industry Rankings, coming in at No. 385 nationally.
Howard is the No. 62 wide receiver nationally and the No. 54 prospect in Florida in the Class of 2025.
