Penn State tweets of the day
We start with wrestling. Multi-time NCAA champion and Penn State 184-pounder Aaron Brooks will wrestle for the United States at a major international tournament. He will compete for the U.S. at the 2023 U23 World Championships in Tampere, Finland, Oct. 23-29. The Nittany Lion has already had a good start to his freestyle season since winning another college title back in March. Now, he’s looking to add to it.
“After earning a U.S. Open championship in April, Brooks finished as runner-up to Olympic and two-time World champion David Taylor at Final X to secure the No. 2 U.S. Senior National Team spot at 86 kg,” USA Wrestling writes in a news release.
“The Hagerstown, Md., native has a proven history at World Championship events having earned a gold medal at the 2017 U17 Worlds in Athens, Greece, and a silver medal at the 2018 U20 Worlds in Trnava, Slovakia. This year will mark his first U23 World-level contest.”

Brooks could take an Olympic redshirt this season. But, Penn State does not typically start its regular season until the second week of November. So, Worlds should not interfere with his college wrestling plans should he choose to be back on the mat for the Lions this season, which is expected.
In other news, Penn State offered Class of 2026 running back Kyshawn Robinson on Tuesday. He hails from Pittsburgh.
