It’s time to dive into Friday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.
Penn State tweets of the day
We start with Penn State wrestling. Multi-time NCAA champion Carter Starocci announced Thursday that he will be back with a final season for the Nittany Lions this winter. The news was expected but now is confirmed. The three-time NCAA champion and All-American will again slot in at 174 pounds for Cael Sanderson’s NCAA title defending team.
“I’ll be back for my fourth and final year, my senior year,” Starocci said in a video posted by Penn State Athletics. “It was a hard, long decision. But I just realized that Penn State has given so much to me, and I kind of owe it to Penn State and the whole community. So it’s about bringing another banner back to State College. And, it’s kind of hard to turn this program down when you’re in the best place in the world.
“It’s been a remarkable journey. I was so focused on, I have to get better [in high school]. When I got to Penn State, the whole program was about helping other people and being a good person. When you focus on those things, it helps you overall. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.”

Quote of the day
“These 10 are the main schools that stay in contact and show the most love. Coaches from all of these school reach out at least once or twice a week, I have built some good relationships and that is a big factor. These are also schools I can see myself playing for and making an early impact at.”
