It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with wrestling. Former Penn State heavyweight Seth Nevills will stay in the Big Ten to continue his college wrestling career. The California native is moving on to Maryland after entering the transfer portal shortly after the Nittany Lions won the 2022-2023 national title.

“With the graduation of Jaron Smith and the unfortunate medical retirement of Garrett Kappes, our program was in need of an elite heavyweight and Seth Nevills is just that,” Terps coach Alex Clemsen said in a released statement.

In other news, a key Penn State football recruiting staffer is moving on. Hunter Carson, who spent two years with the Lions, has taken a job with the Cleveland Browns. Her title changed this offseason to recruiting coordinator for communication strategy.

“I have overflowing gratitude towards Coach Franklin and my Penn State Football family for blessing me with the opportunity to be a part of something so incredibly special,” Carson wrote on Twitter. “What an honor and privilege these past two years have been to learn, grow, and grind alongside each member of this amazing team. The lessons learned and memories made are absolutely priceless and I will cherish them forever. My family and I have tremendous love for Happy Valley and will miss this place dearly.

“I cannot wait to cheer on the Nittany Lions for life in conference and national championships, as well as many other major accomplishments off the field. There is no limit to what this team can achieve! There is truly no place like Penn State. Forever grateful. #WeAre With that being said, I am incredibly excited to announce I have accepted a role in Team Logistics with the Cleveland Browns!”

Quote of the day

“I was able to prove to not only myself, but to everyone that the player is still there and now I feel I’m young still at 26 and I’m just starting to get into my prime. There’s still a version of 26 that a lot of people haven’t seen.”
