Penn State wrestling 2024-2025 schedule, projected starting lineup, more
A new episode of the Penn State wrestling show from Blue-White Illustrated is now live! And, it’s a special edition, as it’s the final one of the preseason. Five Nittany Lions start their season at the NWCA All-Star Classic exhibition on Saturday night at Rec Hall. Then, the full team gets going Sunday when Drexel visits for a 1 p.m. ET dual meet on B1G+.
“Everything’s been great,” head coach Cael Sanderson said at the team’s media day earlier this week. “We’re just grateful to be at Penn State and with the people that we work with every day, and the community has been awesome. I’ve got nothing but good memories, and just looking forward to making more.
“We are excited to see where we are and then just build from there. We have a lot of great kids, great human beings. So, yeah, we’ll see where we’re at, and then we’ll just keep getting better and be at our best in the big moments.”
This week’s show and podcast begins with the top takeaways from media day. What did we learn about key starting spot battles? Why did Carter Starocci settle on 184 pounds to chase a record-setting fifth NCAA title? And which Nittany Lion is hurt to start the year? Pickel and Carr discuss that before diving into a preview of the weekend’s action. The show closes with a look at the Class of 2025 recruits who signed during the early signing period. Below, we also have the starting lineup projection and schedule, which are also covered on this week’s show.
