Penn State tweets of the day
We start with wrestling. Penn State picked up another transfer portal addition on Sunday night. The Lions have added former Michigan wrestler and two-time Cadet world champ Kurt McHenry to their roster. The Leesburg, Va., native wrestles at 125 pounds and has two years of eligibility remaining. This will be his fifth college wrestling season. He is 12-6 all-time, according to WrestleStat. Penn State will have an interesting competition for the starting spot at the lightest weight class. Besides McHenry, the Lions hope to have Robbie Howard back from injury and Gary Steen returns, as well.
“McHenry was a Cadet World champ in both 2016 and 2017 and was one of the top lightweight recruits in his class,” David Bray writes for Flo Wrestling. “Despite having spent five years at the University of Michigan, he still has two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting during the 2019-20 season and participating in the 2020-21 season that didn’t count due to COVID-19 exemption.

“Penn State has won team titles on a regular basis over the last decade and a half, but they haven’t had an All-American at 125 lbs since Nico Megaludas won an NCAA title in 2016. Now, Penn State’s starting role at 125 lbs may come down to 2x Cadet World Champ McHenry and 3x Cadet World teamer Robert Howard.”

Quote of the day
“Based on what those two were able to do as true freshmen, and behind an offensive line and a tight end group that we think are going to be better, obviously there’s a lot of excitement for those two to be able to take the next step and have a big impact. That’s not only on our program, but also I think there’ll be a lot of people talking about those two this year.”
