Penn State wrestling starts day two of the Big Ten Championships this afternoon. The Nittany Lions enter the final two sessions with a commanding lead in the team race.

Head coach Cael Sanderson’s side must still fend off Iowa and others to win their first conference crown in a few years. But, with six finalists, the team sits in prime position to win it all.

“It’s a beast of a day, right; I mean it’s a lot of great wrestling every round and every match is tough,” head coach Cael Sanderson said, per PennLive, after the Lions had a terrific Saturday. “Our guys are doing fine and I think our best wrestling is ahead of us still, but it was a good day.

“I’m not disappointed in anybody,” Sanderson said. “Sometimes losing is the most powerful opportunity to learn something, so it can help us prepare to move into the national tournament in March. The guys finished strong today but tomorrow’s a big day, so we want to make sure we wrestle the way we want to wrestle.”
