MatScouts has released its final senior big board for the Class of 2025. Six Nittany Lions signees are inside of the top 60. And, two lead the way. New York star PJ Duke is No. 1, and Perrysburg, Ohio’s Marcus Blaze is No. 2, on Willie Saylor’s list Duke projects to compete at either 157 or 165 pounds in college. Blaze, then, projects at 141 pounds. It’s possible he slides right into head coach Cael Sanderson team’s starting lineup this winter with Beau Bartlett now moving on. But, that isn’t a guarantee yet. Both have won just about everything they could at the prep level.

Other future Penn State wrestlers in the big board rankings include top-25 entrants William Henckel and Asher Cunningham. The former is from New Jersey and is projects to compete in the upper weights. He is No. 18. The latter, a State College native, is No. 22. He projects to compete in the 174-pound weight class at the next level.

Rounding out the Lions connections are Nathan Desmond, who is No. 39 and projects to compete at 125 pounds, and Dalton Perry, who is No. 54 and figures to wrestle in the middle weights.

Quote of the day

“He has crazy velocity on the ball. We’ve really worked on smoothing out his release, changing speeds and letting his hips and his core do most of the work. He’s really come a long way in the past three months. I’m really excited about what he’s doing. The ball comes out like it’s shot out of a cannon. Now, he’s learning to pace it and he’s learning to put different trajectories on it.

“Peyton is the kind of kid who just eats it up. We trained for almost four hours [Friday]. He never got tired and wanted to just keep going. His motivation to be great is as high as it is with Drew and Ethan. He’s cut from the same cloth there.”

QB trainer Brad Maendler on PSU commit Peyton Falzone.
