Penn State wrestling: Recapping the penultimate session at the NCAA Championships
Penn State wrestling is ready for the final day of the NCAA Wrestling Championships. It starts with the penultimate session inside of the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Three Nittany Lions will be on the mat this morning (and early afternoon), hoping to earn the highest placing possible. Five others will wrestle tonight in the finals. All eight are already All-Americans. And, depending on when you’re reading this (and you can find updates below), Penn State may have already clinched the 2023 team title. But, it hasn’t happened before the action begins.
This is your home for updates, team scores, and more as session five unfolds. Read on for more.
How can I watch and follow Penn State in session five?
ESPNU is the television home for this session. ESPN+ offers a variety of streams, including the ability to pick a specific mat to watch or all of them. It is a subscription service. Three mats will be used during this session.
Longtime broadcaster Jeff Byers will be on the call from Tulsa starting at 10:40 a.m. ET. Click here to access the free LionVision feed from the Penn State Sports Network.

What is the first match for each Nittany Lion in session five?
The action will begin with consolation semifinal bouts. Beau Bartlett is in one of those at 141 pounds. Shayne Van Ness is, too, at 149 pounds. Those will take place from 125-285 before the third, fifth, and seventh place matches are held. Senior Max Dean is already in the latter one at 197 pounds. Here is how each Lion will start his day:
