Penn State tweets of the day
We start with a preview of Senior Nationals, which are Dec. 15-17 in Texas. The following current Penn State wrestlers will be at the event (number next to name indicates seed where applicable):
- No. 9 Cael Nasdeo (57 kilograms)
- No. 5 Beau Bartlett, Timothy Levine, No. 11 Tyler Kasak (65 kilograms)
- Terrell Barraclough, No. 6 Alex Facundo (74 kilograms)
- Aarif Ased, Donovan Ball, Bernie Truax (86 kilograms)
- No. 2 Greg Kerkvliet (125 kilograms)
A trio of Nittany Lion commits are also competing. No. 3 Luke Lilledahl is in the 57-kilogram bracket. And, No. 5 Connor Mirasola (86 kilograms) and No. 9 Cole Mirasola (97 kilograms) will both be on hand. Former Lions No. 2 Nico Megaludis is in the 57-kilogram bracket. And one-time Lions No. 1 Mark Hall, No. 3 Morgan McIntosh, and No. 4 Max Dean are in the 86-kilogram brackets, too.
The top five wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will be held next spring at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College. Flo Wrestling projects Lilledahl, Megaludis, Bartlett, Facundo, Hall, and Kerkvliet to all advance in their respective weight classes. And, it calls Kerkvliet the favorite to win at 125 kilograms.

“Greg Kerkvliet is the clear favorite to win gold in Fort Worth at 125 kg,” Joe Kozak writes. “Kerkvliet recorded a statement win at the NWCA All-Star classic when he teched Wyatt Hendrickson. Kerkvliet looks like a man on a mission this year and his size and athleticism make him a nightmare matchup for anyone in the world at 125 kg.”

Quote of the day
“They have a great defense led by their front. From learning more and watching a really balanced offense, they can really run the ball. The quarterback takes care of the ball. Like Gary [Stokan] mentioned, both teams do a really good job turnover-wise.
“This will probably be one of those games that you have to play really well in all areas to go down to the wire and make some plays at the end.”
