We start with the Penn State women’s basketball team. Head coach Carolyn Kieger‘s team had hoped to make the NCAA Tournament. Instead, it just missed the cut. Its consolation prize is being the No. 1 seed in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT). The Lady Lions play host to George Mason tonight at the Bryce Jordan Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. ET. ESPN+ will stream the contest.
“I’m super proud of our players and our staff for the job and improvement we made this season,” Kieger said on Tuesday, per The Daily Collegian. “To put ourselves in the conversation, put ourselves in a resume with an elite NET ranking, an elite strength of schedule. I thought our team did a really good job taking a punch, getting hit in the gut on Sunday night and coming back on Monday and having a phenomenal practice,” Kieger said. “That just speaks to our maturity and resilience, and the character of this team and the character of our leaders.”
“To play with that chip on your shoulder and prove to people that you belong, that’s why you play the game and that’s what March is all about.”

Quote of the day
“That’s gonna be a guy right there. You guys should lock in on him, Cooper Cousins. He’s gonna work hard. He’s in there every day. I mean, He might even be in there longer than me. I’m not even sure. He’s definitely putting in the work. A lot of work that most freshmen wouldn’t put in when they first get here. So I’m really excited about Cooper Cousins.”
