Nation's No. 1 ranked prospect set to attend Penn State White Out
Penn State’s White Out visitor list added one of the nation’s most coveted prospects Wednesday, as 2025 quarterback Bryce Underwood is now set to attend.
The nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2025, Underwood has visited Penn State once before, attending a junior day back in January to get to know offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich and the entire Nittany Lion coaching staff. Now, he’s set to return for his first game inside Beaver Stadium, as the Nittany Lions will host Iowa for the annual White Out game Saturday evening.
In addition to being a five-star recruit, Underwood holds a five-star + label by On3. That’s because he’s considered a five-star prospect on all four major recruiting services.
A native of Belleville, Mich., Underwood checks in at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. He emerged as an immediate impact player as a freshman, throwing for 2,888 yards and 39 touchdowns with only four interceptions in 2021. Underwood also led Belleville to a state championship that season while also being named the Michigan Associated Press Division 1-2 Player of the Year.

For his sophomore season, Underwood was just as good, if not better, leading Belleville to an undefeated 14-0 record and another state championship in 2022. He threw for 2,762 yards and 37 touchdowns last season.
So far, most of his visits have been to Penn State’s Big Ten East rivals, as Michigan has hosted him 10 times over the past two years. Michigan State and Ohio State have also gotten him on campus a handful of times, while Alabama, Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Tennessee and USC have also all hosted Underwood at least once. He’s earned nearly 50 scholarship offers overall.
Underwood is expected to make the trip with two of his Belleville teammates, Ath. Marquis Peoples and WR Antwon Thomas. Thomas has already earned an offer from the Nittany Lions. They’re the lone Power Five school to offer so far, with mainly Mid-American Conference schools offering.
