Recapping Penn State's big recruiting weekend and previewing final home game
The Penn State Nittany Lions football team faces Rutgers on Saturday in the team’s Senior Day for the 2023 season. It’s also the coaching staff’s final recruiting weekend of the year. On today’s BWI Live Recruiting Show, we recap the previous weekend and look ahead to the game against Rutgers.
Penn State hosted one of its largest recruiting weekend’s of the year in the team’s loss to Michigan. While turmoil swirled around the program because of the loss, how did recruits take the game’s outcome? Recruiting insiders Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz recap that, and the notable news that came out of the event.
Penn State hosts an official visit and gets a commitment
Despite the loss, Penn State landed a quarterback commit on Tuesday with three-star passer Bekkem Kritza. We discussed earlier this week what he brings to the table as a prospect. Still, Snyder will discuss how Kritza is viewed by national recruiting experts and what people around him said about his reasons for committing to the program.
Fitz: Practice Update
Four-star offensive lineman Andrew Dennis also took an official visit to Penn State last weekend. The Nittany Lions already have a strong offensive line class, but the team has routinely taken extra linemen late in the last several recruiting cycles. Is Dennis the next one? We’ll review how the visit went and what information came out about it.

Practice Update
Meanwhile, the current Penn State Football team held practice last night, and Blue White Illustrated was there to get a lay of the land after offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich was fired on Sunday. Fitz will give you his impressions of the team’s progress this week and how things went with multiple coaches sharing the load of running the offensive practice. We’ll also discuss James Franklin’s comments afterwards about the transfer portal and more.
